Presidents Election

It is true that the USA has the most powerful economy in the world and the person who is the leader of this powerful country is known as president of US. The president of USA is a head of state, head of government and commander of armed force in US. It becomes really very important the one suitable candidate should be chosen as the president of one of the most country in the world. The process of selecting the suitable candidate is done by the presidential elections in us. The presidential elections are indirect elections in which the voters cast ballots for a state of electors of the US Electoral College who further in turn elects the President and Vice president of USA. These elections are conducted after every 4 years in US.

The first presidential elections in US were held in the year 1789 when the US got their first president George Washington bush. Since, then after every 4 years presidential elections are held where all US citizens around the globe are encouraged to cast their precious votes in selecting their leader. During the first phase of elections in early 80's, the electors were given the right to cast 2 votes so that they could select two different candidates for president and the candidate that receives majority of the votes was regarded as the president of US and second best becomes the vice president. This process was changed in the year 1800, when 2 candidates Aaron burr and Thomas Jefferson received the same number of votes. In response to the elections that were held in the year 1800, 12th Amendment was passed which states that made every elector to cast 2 distinct votes: one of the president and another for vice president. This process has made popularity and it is continuing the current era of the presidential elections as well.

The modern process of US elections consists of 2 phases primary presidential elections held in every state and presidential conventions held by each political party. Now every state and District of Columbia has the right to conduct elections on Election Day so that they can determine their slate of electors. Every citizen of US, irrespective of cast, color, sex, religion and age is given the right to cast their votes on ballot where they select the candidates of their choice. The presidential ballot which is basically a voter right to select their candidate but that also means that the particular voter is not only voting for the candidates but also endorsing a slate of electors to vote for their specific Presidential and vice presidential candidate for US. The most recent presidential elections were held in year 2008 where the US got their 44th president Barrack Obama, who is renowned as one the most intelligent, educated, powerful and peaceful person in history of US presidents.
